A Renormalization Group Approach to the Chiral Transition
نویسنده
چکیده
A methodology is given to test the QCD Nf=2 chiral transition, presently conjectured to be second order. Scaling forms for the correlation length, susceptibilities and equation of state are given which account for finite lattice spacing. Confirmation by lattice simulation would provide a large set of consistency checks for establishing that the transition is second order. Further corrections from finite volume effects and higher dimensional operator mixing are given. The implications of scaling corrections in finite temperature lattice QCD studies are examined with emphasis on tests for the believed second order chiral transition within the realistic setting of finite lattice spacing effects. A NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION
A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian
متن کاملA numerical renormalization group approach for calculating the spectrum of a vibronic system occurring in molecules or impurities in insulators
Theoretically, in order to describe the behavior of a spectrum, a mathematical model whichcould predict the spectrum characteristics is needed. Since in this study a Two-state system has beenused like models which was introduced previously past and could couple with the environment, theformer ideas have been extended in this study. we use the second quantized version for writing thisHamiltonian...
متن کاملPhase transitions in generalized chiral or Stiefel’s models
We study the phase transition in generalized chiral or Stiefel’s models using Monte Carlo simulations. These models are characterized by a breakdown of symmetry O(N)/O(N −P ). We show that the phase transition is clearly first order for N ≥ 3 when P = N and P = N − 1, contrary to predictions based on the Renormalization Group in 4 − ǫ expansion but in agreement with a recent non perturbative Re...
متن کاملMass Dependence of the Chiral Phase Transition
We investigate chiral symmetry restoration in finite spatial volume and at finite temperature by calculating the dependence of the chiral phase transition temperature Tc on the size of the spatial volume and the current-quark mass for the quark-meson model, using the proper-time Renormalization Group approach. We find that the critical temperature is weakly dependent on the size of the spatial ...

This manuscript is the collection of lectures given in the summer school on strongly correlated electron systems held at Isfahan university of technology, June 2007. A short overview on quantum magnetism and spin systems is presented. The numerical exact diagonalization (Lanczos) alghorithm is explained in a pedagogical ground. This is a method to get some ground state properties on finite clus...
متن کاملTHE FRANK KINETIC MODEL FOR SPONTANEOUS CHIRAL SYMMETRY BREAKING WITH VARIABLE CONCENTRATION OF THE ACHIRAL SUBSTRATE
This paper considers the possibility of spontaneous transition of aracemic mixture (composed of equal amounts of two enantiomeric species, say L and D) into a monochiral state (in which only one enantiomer, say L, is present). Transitions of this kind have been recently experimentally observed. A plausible approach to this phenomenon is a model put forward by Frank, based on simple laws of ...
